This Hallberg Rassy Rasmus 35
An outstanding example of Hallberg Rassy Rasmus is a Blue Chip cruising ketch. She is from the much-acclaimed Swedish Boat Yard. The Rasmus 35 has a traditional long keel. This keel configuration makes her a great passage maker in all weather conditions. Wheel steering and a center cockpit with a fixed front screen and aft cockpit enclosure add much-needed protection in cooler Northern European waters. This beautiful yacht has had an outrageous amount of money spent on her since 2015, including all-weather synthetic teak decks. Built-in 1978, she has been recently reborn thanks to work that has been recently completed on her.

History and Construction:
The Rasmus 35 yacht was designed by a leading Swedish designer from elephant yachts of the 1960s, Ollie Enderlein. Seven hundred sixty yachts were made between 1967 and 1978. The name “Rasmus” is the God of Winds in Germany. The design of the Rasmus 35 was way ahead of its time. It was the first sailing yacht in the world with a windscreen which makes her center cockpit very well protected whilst keeping her elegant lines. This was, in fact, the blueprint for the Hallberg-Rassy concept.
The first two Rasmus were built entirely of mahogany, and each took a year to construct. From hull number three, both the hull and the superstructure were made of GRP.
The Rasmus 35 also has a powerful engine. These important basic points, together with the timeless lines, make this yacht still pleasing today. She will also be as attractive decades from now and is a timeless classic. In other words, this is a genuine Halberg Rassy.
The current owner has continued this restoration, but he now has to sell due to ill health. Well worth viewing if you love traditional long-keeled yachts.
